"Storm Barbara" has hit Scotland. Living in the NorthEast/Central Belt, we're not so badly affected but apparently it's really bad in the North West and Highlands & Islands with Flights, Ferries and some train connections cancelled. Supposedly, to last until Boxing Day (26 Dec)
And then "Storm Conor" is to follow.
Great stuff... NOT!

Do you have a SuP? If you do, ask it to weaken the storm. Mine has worked so well this fall that people don't believe the local meteorologists anymore.

Hi marie
That's so good!
Unfortunately, I don't have a SuP...I intend to make one but just haven't had the time to do it yet. I have a wee key ring one but that's it...it's the usual shit work situation & no time for anything else...shame about the physics or you could have commanded it from the US! I might consider buying one - I'll need to ask Alex if we could do a deal!

Taken 20/12/16 @ 4:39PM & 4:51PM
Taken 27/12/16 @ 4:06PM & 4:26PM
This is really strange to see vultures flocked together like this.
Please ignore reflection, took this on the road.

I'm sharing some information, please feel free to comment;
1) The change of sky colour at sunset (red nearest the sun, blue furthest away) is caused by Rayleigh scattering by atmospheric gas particles which are much smaller than the wavelengths of visible light.
2) The grey/white colour of the clouds is caused by Mie scattering by water droplets which are of a comparable size to the wavelengths of visible light.
3) Effect created after chemicals are leaked into the atmosphere by Aircraft.
Therefore 1) and 2) are acceptable with 3) being the anomaly.
